Offshore wind
As no. 2 worldwide in offshore wind, RWE is committed to contributing further to the Polish energy transition
RWE is among the leading investors in renewable energy in Poland.
Since entering Polish renewables market in 2007 we operate almost 541 MW in onshore wind farms, the first PV plants and develop one of the first offshore wind projects in Polish Baltic Sea. Our development pipelines reach much further, so our team located in several offices comprises around 225 highly skilled employees.
As one of the leading investors in the renewable energy sector, we develop, construct and operate our projects throughout the full project lifetime, engaging with the local communities and valued long term cooperations with our partners and contractors.
Since its entry into the Polish market in 2007, RWE has continuously developed its green portfolio becoming one of the leading investors in renewables in Poland. The company is active in the main renewables technologies in Poland: onshore wind, offshore wind and solar.
We are a strategic investor which means that we develop, construct and operate our projects throughout the full project lifetime.
Data networks, mobility, industry, infrastructure, businesses, family: We all need energy. Society is facing a major task as a result: meeting a growing need for electricity while protecting the climate. RWE is already one of the leading companies in the field of renewable energy. Between 2024 and 2030, the company will invest €55 billion worldwide in offshore and onshore wind, solar energy, batteries, flexible generation, and hydrogen projects. By the end of the decade, RWE’s green portfolio will grow to more than 65 gigawatts of generation capacity, which will be perfectly complemented by global energy trading.
RWE Supply & Trading provides tailored energy solutions for large customers. Innovative projects such as floating offshore and the use of hydrogen are proceeding apace. RWE has locations in the attractive markets of Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. The company is responsibly phasing out coal by 2030. RWE employs around 20,000 people worldwide and has a clear target: to get to net zero by 2040. On its way there, the company has set itself ambitious targets for all activities that cause greenhouse gas emissions. The Science Based Targets initiative has confirmed that these emission reduction targets are in line with the Paris Agreement. Very much in the spirit of the company’s purpose:
Our energy for a sustainable life.
